SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 26, 2011) – 12 Gallagher Lane is announcing representation of emerging artist Tracy Lee Griffith and her addition to the gallery’s Visiting Artist Program. Tracy’s work is advanced in tradition, mark, and the inclusion of movement making her a compelling addition.
Her viscous paintings communicate praxis of a personal insight into the world of painting and an emotional experience of the individual perspective. A childhood spent in upstate New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands brought about her relationship with exotica and bold colors, creating portrayals of her youth and consciousness. Her paintings push the boundaries of the canvas and generate a discourse on light and juxtaposing colors, creating an ecstatic rupture of identity.
“Tracy’s work has a unique energy that complements the space and works in direct connection with 12 Gallagher Lane’s vision,” states Gallery Director Derek Cabaniss. “We are impressed by her textural mark and the dichotomy between space and color in her work.” 12 Gallagher Lane will present a public exhibition and private reception later this year.
