SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 31, 2011) – 12 Gallagher Lane is announcing representation of Artist David Molesky and his addition to the gallery’s Visiting Artist Program.
David has been established in his career in the Bay Area art scene and brings with him a vast array of gorgeous surrealist paintings. Under the tutelage of Odd Nerdrum, David studied in Reykjavik, Iceland learning techniques of old world painting styles and “kitsch mentality”. David’s themes are continually working off a narrative in which humans and animals interact with the landscape. His inspiration is in part derived from memories and the collective subconscious.
“David’s work not only accesses an inner narrative but it can be interpreted by its viewers in a myriad of ways. The nature of his paintings invoke an old world aesthetic with a playfulness of modern discourse.” says Gallery Director Derek Cabaniss. “ I look forward to see how his work will interact and influence the dynamic of the space.”
12 Gallagher Lane will present an Artist Introduction and Reception later this fall.
Hours for 12 Gallagher Lane are Wednesday through Saturday 12:00pm – 6:00pm and Monday & Tuesday by appointment.
