SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 13, 2012) – 12 Gallagher Lane is announcing representation of Artist David Del Francia and his addition to the art salon’s Visiting Artist Program.
David graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2010 with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking. His current work explores the inspiration he finds in the every day objects he finds outside of the studio. In presenting the object plainly to the viewer upon a stark white background, whether sculptural or pictorial, David encourages the viewer to confront their personal connection to the object. This minimalistic approach has proven itself to be powerful in it’s simplicity, and impeccably executed.
“In speaking with David about his process, he explains that many of the details in his work were provided by his use of a single-haired brush,” says Managing Principal Derek Cabaniss. “It really shows his dedication to his vision and inspirations — all the while, upholding the humility and sincerity that is immediate in meeting David and seeing his work. His process manages to reflect these qualities in himself, yet also allows the viewer to comprehend the art work in way that is extremely personal.”
12 Gallagher Lane will present an Artist Introduction and Private Reception later in 2012.
